Gabe is an award-winning Filipino-American director based in Los Angeles.
Growing up in San Diego as the youngest of seven kids, Gabe got his start making childhood action films on his mom's video camera. His experiences inspired him to make work that unifies families, empowers communities, and champions humanist storytelling.
Notably, his Oscar®-contending short doc Team Meryland was acquired by The New Yorker and POV on PBS. And recently, he directed the political broadcast ad campaign for a successful street safety ballot measure in Los Angeles.
After graduating from USC film school, he became a former assistant educator. There, he developed his abilities for helping others fulfill their visions. Today, he uses that same skill to run his company Hidalga Studios, which helps impactful leaders create real change.
